Zebrafish Capital is proud to collaborate and invest in a Giant Freshwater Prawn Farming project in Malaysia, in partnership with TJCLC and Friends Pte Ltd—a Singaporean company specializing in consultancy in agriculture and aquaculture. This ambitious initiative focuses on sustainable aquaculture while fostering community development in the region.

The project is located in Desaru, which is part of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ)—a dynamic area promoting cross-border collaboration and economic growth. This strategic location enhances connectivity and provides a favorable environment for advancing agricultural innovation.
The first phase of the project involves the immediate setup of three ponds dedicated to prawn growup operations, laying the foundation for optimal breeding and cultivation of Giant Freshwater Prawns.

To ensure the long-term success of the hatchery, we will implement advanced technology to improve water quality, enhancing the health and yield of the prawns. Once the initial phase is operational, we plan to expand into subsequent phases to scale production capacity and broaden our impact.
A critical element of this project is the involvement of local villages in farming activities. This approach creates employment opportunities and provides direct monetary benefits, uplifting livelihoods and strengthening the local economy.
Beyond Malaysia, the model holds potential for replication in other countries that would benefit from its sustainable design and community-focused approach.
By empowering communities, integrating innovative technologies, fostering partnerships, and driving sustainability in aquaculture, Zebrafish Capital and its partners aim to establish a benchmark for impactful and scalable solutions in the agri-food sector.
