(Singapore, April 9, 2025) After hosting the “Wisdom without Boundaries, Cultivation and Symbiosis” International Agricultural Summit in Shanghai, Zebrafish Capital is once again active as a “cross-platform organizer” in the frontline of China-foreign cooperation. On April 9, Zebrafish Capital and the Business Service Center under the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Singapore to comprehensively promote Hunan's specialty food and agricultural resources to “go out, go in, and take root”, marking the “Hunan Cuisine Going Out” strategy taking a step forward in the Southeast Asian market. The strategy of “Hunan cuisine going out” has taken an important step in Southeast Asian market.

The strategic signing was held at Zebrafish Capital's headquarters in Singapore, attended by Henry Sim, CEO of Zebrafish Capital, and Zhang Junping, Director of Hunan Provincial Business Service Center, with both parties reaching a consensus on three major directions, namely, “Internationalization of Hunan Cuisine”, “Bilateral Investment in Agricultural Science and Technology”, and “Establishment of Overseas Market Validation Platform”. The two sides reached a consensus on the three major directions of “internationalization of Hunan cuisine and products”, “bilateral investment in agricultural science and technology” and “construction of overseas market verification platform”. The signing of this agreement is not only a business move to promote local brands to go overseas, but also a reflection of the two-way link between China and Singapore.

The two sides discussed the construction of a Hunan Food and Culture Experience Center in Singapore through the platform resources jointly operated by Zebrafish Capital and partner Innovate 360, and the organization of activities such as the Hunan Street Food and Culture Festival to showcase Hunan's unique food and agricultural products and non-heritage culture. It will also organize activities such as the Hunan Street Food and Culture Festival to showcase Hunan's specialty food, agricultural and sideline products, and non-heritage culture. This will not only enhance consumer awareness of Hunan products going overseas, but also provide Hunan food enterprises with a real overseas testing ground.

The two sides are exploring various modes of cooperation. In the field of agricultural technology, Zebrafish Capital will introduce projects in Hunan, including facility-based agriculture, digital factories for pre-prepared vegetables, low-carbon packaging and functional foods, through its technology cooperation network, in order to collaborate on the feasibility study of creating an “import and export processing and trading zone for high-value-added agricultural products”. At the same time, Hunan's advantageous products (such as chili peppers, spices, deep-processed aquatic products, etc.) will also be organized by Zebrafish Capital to connect with Innovate 360, the Food Authority of Singapore, and international buyers to build a new growth pathway of “Chinese Agriculture + International Channels”.

In the practice of internationalization of Hunan cuisine, Zebrafish Capital will join hands with various resources to provide integrated support from site selection, licensing, pricing to crisis response, and cooperate with Singapore Workers' General Union and vocational colleges and universities to provide training solutions for chefs and service personnel for Hunan restaurant brands to land overseas and help “brands to go out and talents to come out”. We also cooperate with the Singapore Workers' Union and vocational colleges to provide chef and service staff training solutions for Hunan restaurant brands to land overseas, helping “brands go out and talents come out”.

During the signing exchange, the person in charge of Hunan Provincial Business Service Center pointed out that China is facing a new round of development challenges, and must take scientific and technological innovation, service innovation and institutional innovation as a systematic breakthrough. Zebrafish Capital's business model of “overseas R&D + local transformation”, “culture going overseas + agriculture returning” is highly compatible with Hunan's strategic direction of building new quality productivity and expanding export-oriented agricultural ecology.

At the meeting, the two sides also preliminarily discussed the feasibility of landing the pilot production and export-oriented processing capacity of the incubated projects of Innovate360 in Hunan, and encouraged the partners, including Zebrafish Capital and World Food Chain, to go to Hunan for inspection, and to deeply dock with the carrier of the industrial parks and the resources of the ports, so as to jointly push forward the investment, construction and operation of the industrial agglomeration of import and export food and processing industry.

In the future, Zebrafish Capital will continue to leverage the advantages of the internationalization platform of its Singapore headquarters, and explore more sustainable and replicable agri-food products overseas with local governments and industrial partners, so as to inject new kinetic energy into the construction of a strong agricultural country through global synergy.
